Tibor Kalman (1949-1999) was a graphic designer based in New York and the founder of the design firm M& Co. He was known for his highly innovative designs and for his espousal of progressive social causes. As a member of the industrial design community, he encouraged designers to think about how they contribute to waste and to the promotion of products that harm the environment.
